Physiological changes involved in the acquisition of seed vigor during maturation of sunflower seed

چکیده

Abstract Maturity is an important factor in regulating seed vigor, while inappropriate harvest date affects vigor seriously. Here we reported that the was highest among 25–28 days after pollination, and these were best time for sunflower seeds. Seed moisture content increased first then decreased, dry weight continuously with advancement of development. Oil protein are main nutriments mature seeds changes both contents consistent weight. For antioxidases, activity ascorbate peroxidase (APX) decreased gradually before maturity. Compared to gibberellin (GA), whose abscisic acid (ABA) accumulated during Moreover, spermidine (Spd) continually, although no regularity variation found putrescine (Put) spermine (Spm). Further analysis showed activities GA3ox GA20ox, NCED ABA8ox, SAMDC SPDS corresponding genes expression resulted GA, ABA Spd accumulation, respectively. In addition, moisture, soluble sugar, APX significantly negatively correlated indexes, weight, oil, positively indexes. These metabolic processes may be closely related formation, can used predict vigor.

the effect of e-64 on the developmental competence of sheep cocs during in vitro maturation

in the present study, the effect of e-64 at different concentrations (0.5, 1, 5 and 10 µm) added to (1) the ivm medium on oocyte nuclear maturation and developmental competence of ovine oocytes, and (2) to the ivc medium on embryonic development of ovine embryos were investigated.

Changes in Cell Wall Polysaccharides during Sunflower Seed Development

Developing sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.) seeds were analyzed for their fresh and dry weights, water content and wall components viz. low and high molecular weight xyloglucan and pectic polysaccharides. Seeds from two rows (6th and 12th) differing in their final dry weight and position on the capitulum were selected for the investigation. The dry weight of seed from 6th row was 69 mg while th...

Seed germination and vigor.

Germination vigor is driven by the ability of the plant embryo, embedded within the seed, to resume its metabolic activity in a coordinated and sequential manner. Studies using "-omics" approaches support the finding that a main contributor of seed germination success is the quality of the messenger RNAs stored during embryo maturation on the mother plant. In addition, proteostasis and DNA inte...

Standardization of Seed Vigor Tests

The last 30 years have led to increasing dissatisfaction by seed producers and consumers with the standard germination test as the sole criterion of seed performance potential presented on a seed label. As a result, new seed testing techniques have been formulated known as seed vigor tests that provide more sensitive measures of seed quality. The ISTA and AOSA Vigor Test Committees have been at...

Seed Distribution Uniformity of Sunflower

In this study, four different type seeders were evaluated for seed spacing, depth uniformity, and plant emergence at three forward speeds (3.6, 5.4, and 7.2 km h-1). The planter types were: no-till planter, precision vacuum planter, universal planter, and semi-automatic potato planter. The sowing uniformity of the horizontal distribution of seeds was described by using the multiple index, the m...
